HOW TO MEASURE FURNITURE

Some carriers go by weight, and some carriers go by something called density weight. The difference between the two is that density weight takes other dimensions into account

For Example

50 pounds of rocks and 50 pounds of feathers both weigh 50 pounds – right? But, 50 pounds of rocks take up much less space, and are much denser than 50 pounds of feathers.

LIFTGATE

The driver is not responsible for assisting you in any way with this step either. If it is determined that the usage of a liftgate is necessary for the pick up or drop off, the driver will use one and you will get rebilled for it at a higher rate than if you had simply opted in for it at the time of booking.

LIMITED ACCESS LOCATION

Just because a location is commercial, doesn’t mean it’s not limited access. It could be a business in a desolate area, or a business in a crowded metro area, both of which have the potential to be limited access. Verify with your agent to confirm the location you’re shipping to and from is not limited access.

RESIDENTIAL LOCATION

Because freight trucks are large and it’s hard for them to maneuver in tight spaces, there is a surcharge for drivers to pick up or drop off in residential locations. When possible, we encourage you to conduct your pickups and drops offs at a commercial location or freight terminal to avoid paying extra.
